We take an email so the account is yours. We don’t want your phone, your school, or your card. We don’t sell what you give us.
Kanji Drift is the service at kanjidrift.com and app.kanjidrift.com. If you want this policy applied to you, write hello@kanjidrift.com from the address on the account.
That is the account. We use it to run the app, send the confirmation and reset mail, and — only if you opt in — put a username on the 土俵.
The actual SRS — which cards you know, when they come back, notes, synonyms — currently lives in this browser’s storage, not on the account. A new device is a new deck until we finish moving that onto the server. Optional LLM keys you paste in never leave the device; we do not store them.
We email you to confirm the address, to reset a password, and if something about the account needs you. We don’t send study nag mail unless you ask for it later. We don’t sell the list.
Off by default. You show up only after a username and an opt-in. Email is never rendered. You can turn it off in Settings and the name comes down.
Hosting and mail go through the operators we use to keep the site up (the servers and the inbox). They see what they need to deliver the service, not a marketing file. We don’t sell personal data. We don’t run third-party ad networks on the app.
If a law says we have to hand something over, we will do the minimum and tell you when we are allowed to.
For as long as the account exists. Delete it in Settings and the server-side record goes with it. Browser storage you clear yourself, or it goes when you hit reset progress on that device.
You can look at what we hold, correct the profile, export a copy by asking, or delete the account. If you are in Japan, that sits under the APPI. If you are in the EEA or UK, we process this to provide the service you requested. Write from the account email if you want any of that done by hand.
We don’t take accounts from anyone under 18. If one gets through, tell us and we delete it.
If this policy changes in a way that actually affects you, we date the page. The current version is the one that applies.
